Hey friends,

I golfed with a buddy of mine this week, and what’s crazy is that we originally met because he listened to my podcast last year (Two Dads in Tech), figured out we live ten minutes apart, and DMed me on LinkedIn to say hi. That's it. Now our kids play together, our wives hang out, and we’re all great friends.

I am affirmed every day that showing up online consistently so that the internet feels like it knows the real you is the highest leverage thing you can do in your life and your career. Nothing else comes close.

Last year I posted about 1,000 videos and another 10,000+ posts. I just kept posting stuff without always knowing where it would go, and it led me here with a new friend, and to many other places. Too many to list, but I’ll give a few examples.

If you're new here, welcome. Here's the quick version of who I am and why any of this is worth your time.

I was beehiiv's first sales hire. I personally closed $4M in deals and built the sales team that scaled the company to $30M+ ARR. While doing that full-time — with two kids at home — I built a six-figure media company on the side: a podcast, a multi-city newsletter network, social brand deals, and over 50 million impressions a year across seven platforms. I never had the luxury of focusing on one thing, so I built systems that let me scale many things at once.

I’m a guy just like you, but I’ve built and leveraged systems and processes to post tens of thousands of times per year, break into the largest companies in the world, talk to the wealthiest people on the planet, and advise companies looking to launch, grow, and scale their systems like I have.

Thanks for being here. And let me know how I can help.

Four years ago I heard about a new platform called beehiiv a few days after it launched. I was already knee deep building a newsletter tech stack from scratch for a fintech startup, so I DMed the beehiiv CEO, Tyler Denk. Not for a job. I just wanted to use the product and figured it wouldn't hurt to be on his radar.

We stayed in touch. Mostly DMs, back and forth, for the better part of a year. I counted at one point… over 240 touchpoints. I moved my own newsletters to beehiiv. I moved my clients' newsletters to beehiiv. I was telling people to use it before I worked there.

When beehiiv needed their first seller, that was me and it was a no brainer because I was already doing the job.

When he asked me to sell him on the product I flexed every muscle in my body and the rest is history.

People with networks get hired before they interview. Your network, your content, your digital footprint IS the interview.

That same habit is how I got to host Moneywise. I asked Sam to come on my podcast in February of 2025.

At first he said no because he hates doing podcasts (lol), but eventually he turned around and came on the pod.

Over the years we were in a similar space. I was at beehiiv, he invested in a competitor, and his MyFirstMillion cohost is a beehiiv investor. So we were passively aware of each other’s existence, but nothing more.

After he was a guest on my podcast things changed. Now we were on a first name basis. So when I saw him a year later in Austin I asked him for advice on my own podcast. Keep in mind, before this point I had never asked him for anything beyond guesting on my pod, and I made it very easy for him to do that.

As we were discussing my podcast, he somewhat jokingly said “You should just host Moneywise.”

I laughed it off thinking he was joking, but then he said “I’m serious. Do you want to?”

And the rest is history.

Opportunities like this do not happen to people who haven’t consistently shown up over and over and over again tens of thousands of times to prove who they are and what they’re capable of doing.

Every video, every post, every newsletter issue is sitting out there doing work for me while I'm not looking. When a company is deciding whether to hire me to consult, sponsor my content, sponsor Moneywise, partner with my local media company (where we serve 20,000 local families 2x weekly) they don't need to take my word for anything. They can quickly and easily go look and find out what I’m like online and the edge I bring. And what's there is years of me actually doing the thing I say I do, in public, with my name on it.

You don't have to convince anybody you're good at something if the internet already shows them.

Friends. A job. A podcast full of guests who wouldn't normally sit down with me. A room full of business owners who want to hear from me specifically. All from the same source — I kept showing up consistently, daily, maniacally… for 10 years.

Until next time,

Daniel
